Who will step up?"The Ravens are approaching a bit of a transition year under a young second-year quarterback and will be facing all the challenges (and reaping all the benefits) that their situation entails. A lot of new faces are either entering the mix or will be thrust into the spotlight Patrick Onwuasor Jersey 2019 , and, as a result, the chance for a breakout player to emerge definitely presents itself. So, who could that guy be for this season? A few candidates immediately jump to mind, with a pretty interesting one coming from Bleacher Report’s Gary Davenport in an article ranking each team’s potential breakout player for the coming season:This certainly is an interesting choice and while it’s tough to categorize Ingram as a straight-up breakout type guy, Davenport’s logic does make some sense. He’s very much in line for a big time bounce back season with a new team so in that sense this is a point pick, however there are definitely other players who fit the billing just as well if not better.Let’s take a look at who some of those guys may be, shall we?Wide Receiver, Chris MoorePhoto by Todd Olszewski/Getty ImagesHere’s a fairly obvious one as John Harbaugh has as much said that it’s Moore’s “time.” Hopefully that means the front office will still bring in some young talent to compete for snaps via the draft as Moore’s ascension to a starting caliber player isn’t a sure thing just yet.For now though, it appears he has the inside track to be a top target as training camp opens. If he’s able to capitalize on that by building off the momentum of three seasons in which he continuously improved his game, his trajectory would suggest he’s up to the task of a more significant workload for 2019.Linebackers Tyus Bowser and Tim WilliamsPhoto by Andy Lyons/Getty ImagesI opted to put these guys together because they’re both expected to step into some pretty big shoes. Replacing Terrell Suggs and Za’Darius Smith doesn’t seem like something that’ll happen right off the rip Daylon Mack Baltimore Ravens Jersey , but for now, these two are the ones who are being tabbed to do so.Williams’ draft profile projected him as an out-and-out pass rusher a-la Smith, while Bowser’s athletic ability suggested he would be a more all around front seven chess piece similar to Suggs in some respects. Both were relatively high picks in 2017 who haven’t shown a ton just yet, but with the right coaching and opportunity in front of them, they may just be breakout players this coming season.Quarterback Lamar JacksonPhoto by Patrick Smith/Getty ImagesLamar may be a tough sell as a breakout candidate after a strong rookie season, but the fact remains that he still has more to prove as a passer. Many analysts seem stuck to the idea that he can’t/won’t improve in this respect, and shutting them up to at least some degree would represent yet another level of a breakout for number 8 in my book. More talent is going to need to be put in place around him between now and September to help facilitate that, but if that does take place to an even reasonable level, there’s no reason why Jackson can’t continue to build upon his first year success. EDTShareTweetShareShareRavens NFL draft big board: Edge Rusher Mark J. Rebilas-USA TODAY SportsOutside of wide receiver, edge rusher is probably the Ravens biggest need heading into the draft. Baltimore lost their two leading sack-getters last season in Za’Darius Smith and Terrell Suggs White Daylon Mack Jersey , who combined for 15.5 sacks between the two of them. There was obviously some justification for letting both of them walk but that’s a lot of production to replace, nevertheless. Tim Williams and Tyus Bowser are being counted upon to step into larger roles, but will either of them emerge as a starter opposite Matthew Judon? We’ll have to wait and see. However, the Ravens desperately need to add some talent ad competition into the mix. In terms of outside linebackers and defensive ends, this draft class is talented at the top and fairly deep with guys who can rush the passer. That’s good news for the Ravens and gives them some flexibility. Here are the edge rushers they should have on their radar. 1) Clelin Ferrell, Clemson Brian Burns was a consideration here, but frankly it appears his draft stock has risen to the point where he’s out of the Ravens range. However, there’s still an outside shot that Clelin Ferrell is available for the taking in the first round. If so, it would be a no-brainer selection for Eric DeCosta. Ferell was extremely productive at Clemson and possesses all the tools to be a three-down edge rusher at the next level. 2) Montez Sweat, Mississippi St. Here’s an interesting case. Prior to the recent discovery of an undisclosed heart condition, Montez Sweat was expected to be a top-10 selection. However Alex Lewis Jersey 2019 , his stock has reportedly taken a huge hit and there’s a chance he’ll fall on draft night. If this development plays out, the Ravens might have to roll the dice. Sweat’s upside is as high as almost any player in this draft and if the Ravens can snag him at 22, or even trade back and do so, watch out. 3) Jaylon Ferguson, Lousiana TechJaylon Ferguson has as good of a resume as any edge rusher in this class, but concern over competition level may cause him to slip into the second or third round. The Ravens would be wise to pounce if that were to indeed happen. Ferguson broke Terrell Suggs’ FBS sack record in 2018 and has an advanced pass-rushing skill set. He’s also solid against the run, which suggests he can be more than just a situational player. 4) Chase Winovich, Michigan After a strong senior season, Chase Winovich has crept his way onto the late-first, early-second round radar for most teams. Winovich has a high, relentless motor and never takes any plays off. He also possesses good intangibles and leadership qualities Blue Alex Lewis Jersey , which the Ravens lost at the position with Suggs’ departure. Winovich could be a solid option on day two for Baltimore if they trade back into the second round. 5) Oshane Ximines, Old Dominion Similar to Ferguson, Oshane Ximines did a number on competition at a lower level. The Ravens have shown to value college production when selecting edge rushers and Ximines recorded 27 sacks over the past three seasons. He’s not the most polished prospect in terms of discipline and technique, however, his talent and pass-rushing acumen cannot be ignored. Realistic target for the Ravens in round three.
